Location: 41 Grant Timmins Dr, Kingston, ON K7M 8N3
Work Hours: Monday to Friday:
Float - Various Shifts (15 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $21.56 per hour
Description- Providing efficient and courteous customer service on the telephone and in person. Upselling and cross‑selling corporate products and services.
- Handling customer complaints and inquiries. Problem solving.
- Resolving problem shipments.
- Resolving equipment and technology challenges.
- Collaborating with Head Office, local management, drivers, warehousing staff, account managers and other corporate partners to ensure excellence in customer service.
- Building positive relationships with customers, partners, vendors, and building tenants.
- Assisting customers with shipping details and account challenges using technology.
- Loading, scanning, logging and calling resolution freight.
- Cash reconciliation including deposits and key control.
- Communication.
- Communicating in a positive manner with Head Office, local management, drivers, warehousing staff, account managers and other corporate partners, both orally and in writing.
- Listening to customers and key partners.
- Communicating to customers and key partners in a positive manner.
- Demonstrating personal responsibility and accountability.
- Complying with all corporate policies and procedures, including uniform compliance.
- Adhering to all safety standards.
- Maintaining punctuality and attendance.
- Living the Purolator values and representing them to customers and key partners.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
- Customer service orientation.
- Ability to problem‑solve.
- Excellent in relationship building.
- Experience and adaptation to using technology.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Takes personal responsibility and accountability for actions and situations.
- 3–12 months of customer service experience preferred.
- 3–12 months of retail experience preferred.
- 3–12 months of experience with technology or POS systems preferred.
- Ability to lift 70 lbs and stand for 3 hour intervals.
- Professional communication skills: oral communication (telephone and in person).
- Written communication, listening skills.
- Proven track record of personal responsibility and accountability—including attendance, uniform compliance and attention to detail.
- Experience working in a team environment and independently is an asset.
- Experience working in an environment with safety standards is an asset.
Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
