Under the direction of the Principal, the Student Monitor will provide general supervision and monitoring of students.

Must possess a secondary school diploma. 6 months experience working with children/students in a supervisory/monitor capacity is required. CPR and First Aid is preferred/asset.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Must possess a secondary school diploma
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate and respond to student needs.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use tact, diplomacy and discretion in interactions within the school community.
• Ability to follow school policies and procedures.

(Any or all of the following)

• Provide general supervision and monitoring of students during lunch/nutrition breaks, yard duty and in the halls.
• Supervise students within the school setting, field trips and on the school yard, in school as assigned by the Principal.
• Convey information to students regarding acceptable behavior as per school procedures.
• Demonstrates good attendance and works in a healthy and safe manner.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Work requires light manual effort typical of a normal school environment. Short periods of standing while supervising

Typical school environment. Generally agreeable working conditions as those found in schools or equivalent work areas.
