DescriptionMission:
Ensure IEC’s Brockville facility delivers high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective motor refurbishment. As the sole engineering Tech, own technical problem-solving, process improvements, and operational engineering solutions. Drive measurable gains in quality, throughput, and reliability through technical expertise, collaboration, and full accountability for engineering outcomes.
Process Documentation & Control:
- Develop and maintain complete, accurate work instructions, travelers, routings, PFMEAs, control plans and specifications for 100% of operations within 6 months.
Equipment & Tooling Reliability:
- Maintain >85% uptime across all shop and specialized equipment through preventive maintenance planning, engineering oversight, and root cause analysis of breakdowns.
- Implement documented maintenance standards and improvement plans for critical equipment.
- Implement spare parts planning and revisions to spare parts planning as required to support timely support of machine repairs.
Quality:
- Reduce defect or rework rates by 15% within 12 months through engineering-driven process improvements and operator guidance.
Process Efficiency:
- Reduce standard hours for key operations by 5% within 12 months through tooling, layout, or method improvements.
Technical Problem-Solving & Reverse Engineering:
- Complete reverse engineering of new or unknown components within agreed timing to enable uninterrupted operations and delivery commitments.
- Resolve >90% of technical issues within 1 week of reporting, minimizing production delays and downtime.
Expertise in Motor/Coil Engineering:
- Winding, insulation systems, testing, and manufacturing methods.
Process Engineering & Industrialization:
- Ability to design, validate, and scale robust manufacturing processes.
Analytical & Data-Driven:
- Uses KPIs, data, and structured problem-solving to make decisions and drive improvements.
Cost-Conscious Engineering:
- Balances design choices, materials, and processes with cost implications.
Cross-Functional Influence:
- Able to lead through technical expertise and collaboration, not authority.
Documentation & Standards:
- Strong discipline in specifications, process sheets, PFMEAs, control plans, and SOPs.
Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Systems:
- Ability to trouble shoot equipment and support maintenance operations with machine repairs.
