Join FAO in Jamaica as the National Environmental and Social Safeguards Specialist, focusing on climate-resilient agrifood systems. In this crucial position, you will support the implementation of the FAO Environmental and Social Management Framework, ensuring effective safeguards throughout project life cycles.

You will conduct risk screenings, maintain databases, and verify mitigation measures to protect rural communities and promote sustainable practices.

• Conduct environmental and social risk screenings for all projects
• Maintain the ESS risk register and monitor compliance
• Support stakeholder engagement and document activities
• Prepare operational monitoring reports as required
• Provide logistical support for Environmental and Social Impact Assessments

• University degree in relevant fields
• Minimum 5 years of experience with ESMF applications
• Solid knowledge of environmental legislation
• Excellent communication and report writing skills
• National of Jamaica
