Kingston ( Hybrid)

Empire Life is looking to hire an Actuarial Analyst to join our Actuarial team for a rotation program ! This individual must be located in Kingston/open to relocating to Kingston as this role will be working in a hybrid environment out of our Kingston office.

  • What you’ll be working on

  • Research actuarial issues, develop methods and solutions to support business strategy development

  • Provide support to team members to aid in development of the team

  • Communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders to support the delivery of actuarial programs

  • Contribute to projects that enhance the teams actuarial capabilities and business outcomes

  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends and patterns within large data sets

  • What we’re looking for you to have

  • Recent completion or nearing completion of your education in a relevant program such as actuarial sciences, math, finance, economics or statistics.

  • Advanced mathematical and programming skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven research, analysis and decision-making skills

  • Ability to develop innovative solutions

  • Organizational skills with ability to manage competing priorities

  • Knowledge of spreadsheet, database and word processing software

  • Nice to have

  • Completion of a minimum of one exam through the Society of Actuaries or Canadian Institute of Actuaries

  • Commitment to attain Associate designation through the Society of Actuaries and/or Canadian Institute of Actuaries
