Join Queen’s University as an Experienced Buyer in Kingston, Ontario, and contribute to effective procurement processes. This hybrid position works extensively on vendor negotiations and contract management.
This role is instrumental in approving purchase orders and ensuring competitive bidding among suppliers. You'll develop relationships with colleagues and external vendors while evaluating and addressing vendor performance. Your skills in procurement policies and contracts will help drive effective sourcing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Approve purchase orders and develop delivery schedules
• Negotiate terms and maintain vendor performance standards
• Foster relationships with researchers and suppliers
• Assist in training and procurement workshops
• Compile communication materials and maintain records
Requirements:
• Four-Year Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years in procurement or related fields
• Knowledge of contract and purchasing processes
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
• Required Criminal Records Check
