138 Student Living is seeking a reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support preventive maintenance and day-to-day repairs across student residences and common areas. This role ensures facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained while providing timely, high-quality service to residents and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities- Complete maintenance work orders efficiently and to standard (plumbing, basic electrical, patching/painting, doors/locks, fixtures, minor carpentry, general repairs)
- Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend asset life
- Identify safety hazards, report deficiencies, and take corrective action or escalate as needed
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and parts/materials usage
- Coordinate with approved contractors and vendors when specialized support is required
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety procedures
- Provide after‑hours and on‑call support as assigned
- Hands‑on building or facilities maintenance experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and general repair practices
- Safety‑focused mindset with attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks/priorities
- Clear communication skills for working with residents, operations staff, and vendors
- Experience in student housing, residential buildings, hotels, or campus environments is an asset
- Stable full‑time role in a supportive team environment
