Job Summary
138 Student Living is seeking a reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support preventive maintenance and day-to-day repairs across student residences and common areas. This role ensures facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained while providing timely, high-quality service to residents and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Complete maintenance work orders efficiently and to standard (plumbing, basic electrical, patching/painting, doors/locks, fixtures, minor carpentry, general repairs)

Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend asset life

Identify safety hazards, report deficiencies, and take corrective action or escalate as needed

Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and parts/materials usage

Coordinate with approved contractors and vendors when specialized support is required

Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety procedures

Provide after‑hours and on‑call support as assigned

Qualifications / Requirements

Hands‑on building or facilities maintenance experience

Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills

Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and general repair practices

Safety‑focused mindset with attention to detail and quality

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks/priorities

Clear communication skills for working with residents, operations staff, and vendors

Experience in student housing, residential buildings, hotels, or campus environments is an asset
