Lead EHS efforts as the Champion at Novelis in Kingston, Ontario, focused on improving workplace safety and compliance standards. Collaborate across disciplines to achieve safety excellence.
As the EHS Champion, you will implement and oversee health and safety policies that protect team members and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Your presence on the shop floor will facilitate open communication and enhance safety practices. This strategic role will involve partnership with site leadership and involvement in training programs to cultivate a proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs
• Maintain budget for EHS initiatives and compliance activities
• Collaborate on strategic EHS investments with leadership
• Communicate policy changes and safety incidents
• Foster continuous improvement and employee involvement
Requirements:
• Degree/Diploma in Safety Engineering or related
• Experience in EHS leadership roles
• Understanding of OHSA and best industry practices
• Skills in EHS management systems and audits
• Effective communicator able to engage various stakeholders
