Manufacturing & Construction Team Lead

  • Location: Kingston, ON facility
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (approx. 40 hours/week)
  • Overtime: Occasional, based on operational needs

Role Overview

This role is ideal for a hands-on, field-based leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing and construction environment. The successful candidate leads from the front, actively supports daily production activities, and ensures strong execution across safety, quality, and productivity standards.

The focus is on crew leadership, on-site coordination, and consistent delivery of high-quality work in a structured production environment.

Key Responsibilities

On-Site Leadership & Execution

  • Maintain daily on-site presence to oversee manufacturing and construction activities
  • Lead crews through active supervision, coordination, and hands-on support
  • Set expectations through visible leadership and accountability

Production & Quality Oversight

  • Ensure adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and technical requirements
  • Inspect molds, reinforcement structures, and related components
  • Monitor concrete pouring and related production processes

Safety & Compliance

  • Lead weekly safety meetings and daily safety reinforcement
  • Ensure compliance with all site safety procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture on the shop floor and job site

Team Development

  • Train, mentor, and support junior workers and crew members
  • Drive performance through coaching, standards, and consistent feedback
  • Support knowledge transfer and team capability development

Project Coordination

  • Manage 1–2 active projects concurrently, with flexibility during peak workload periods
  • Coordinate daily activities to ensure schedule adherence and workflow efficiency

Project Environment

  • Institutional and commercial construction/renovation projects (including public-sector facilities)
  • Work in active or occupied environments requiring professionalism and strong communication
  • Success requires discipline, safety awareness, and the ability to manage sensitive site conditions

Working Conditions

  • Industrial manufacturing/plant floor environment
  • Exposure to heavy machinery and moderate to high noise levels (PPE required)
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 kg
  • Physically active, hands-on role

Mandatory Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Clear CPIC (criminal record check)
  • Relevant site supervision or safety certifications (First Aid/CPR/AED required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial supervision
  • Experience in precast concrete or similar manufacturing environments
  • Civil Engineering Technology diploma or related education
  • Strong blueprint reading and technical interpretation skills
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
  • Proven experience mentoring or supervising teams
