The Production Assembler is a production team member responsible for building, aligning, and verifying electrical, optical, and electro-mechanical assemblies in a high-precision manufacturing environment. This role emphasizes consistent, high-quality production output, adherence to established processes, and efficient workflow execution.

The Production Assembler supports production flow by following standard work, completing assigned assembly tasks accurately, and helping ensure quality and throughput targets are met.

Work is performed within established procedures and guidelines. Issues requiring troubleshooting, technical analysis, process deviations, or corrective action beyond documented instructions are escalated to a Senior Production Assembler, Production Technician, or supervisor.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical, optical, and electro-mechanical assembly operations in accordance with established work instructions and quality standards.
  • Conduct in-process checks and perform prescribed corrective actions in accordance with documented procedures. Escalate failures, abnormalities, or issues that fall outside established instructions.
  • Perform precision optical alignment according to documented work instructions, defined parameters, and established acceptance criteria
  • Assemble, align, and electrically test production units while maintaining consistent output and quality.
  • Support production efficiency by minimizing rework through adherence to standard processes and best practices.
  • Identify and elevate assembly or quality issues and support corrective actions as directed by technicians, quality, production leadership, or engineering.
  • Read and follow assembly drawings, work instructions, and production documentation necessary to complete assigned tasks.
  • Meet or exceed established production targets through efficient time management and workflow execution.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on production flow, quality, and efficiency.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Support documentation updates related to assembly processes and best practices.
  • Provide feedback on tools, fixtures, and production processes to improve efficiency.
  • Assist with cross-functional production activities as needed.
Requirements:

Education:
  • Technical diploma or relevant certification in electronics, optics, or mechanical assembly preferred.
Experience:
  • Hands-on experience in electrical, optical, or electro-mechanical assembly within a production environment preferred.
  • Experience working in a high-precision manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Experience performing precision optical alignment within defined procedures is preferred.
Required Abilities:
  • Assembly and basic troubleshooting skills within a production setting.
  • Ability to follow and interpret standardized work instructions.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on consistent product quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members on the production floor.
  • Ability to balance quality and throughput in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
