As an essential member of the inter-professional care team, the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) plays a pivotal role in managing patient care in a non-acute setting. An active license from the College of Nurses of Ontario is mandatory, along with essential skills in evaluating health needs and advocating for patients. This role focuses on delivering safe, effective care while ensuring that patient voices are prioritized.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure safe delivery of patient-centered care
• Assess health status for patients with manageable complexities
• Set care priorities with preventive and therapeutic approaches
• Champion patients' rights in decision-making processes
• Modify care plans based on clinical evaluations
Requirements:
• Licensed to practice with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• CPR certification in good standing
• College certificate required; diploma preferred
• Medication Certificate from Ontario College of Nurses, if applicable
• Strong competencies in nursing practices
