Join the Secure Treatment Unit as a Registered Practical Nurse providing specialized assessment and treatment. Leverage your mental health nursing skills to support patient recovery in a structured setting.
In this role, you will engage in evidence-based practices using the Risk Needs Responsivity Model. Candidates must be graduates of a recognized Practical Nursing program and registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Proficiency in mental health assessments, medication administration, and therapeutic patient relationships is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver evidence-based nursing care to patients
• Conduct thorough mental health assessments
• Administer medications and treatments effectively
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
• Develop therapeutic relationships with patients
Requirements:
• Diploma in Practical Nursing from a recognized institution
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• CPR/AED certification (within last 2 years)
• Minimum two years in psychiatric nursing preferred
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping
