Position: Mental Health Registered Practical Nurse Role
Location: Brockville

Make a difference as a Registered Practical Nurse in the Secure Treatment Unit, specializing in evidence-based approaches to mental health care and rehabilitation. Your skills will facilitate patient recovery and community reintegration.

In this role, you will engage with clients exhibiting diverse mental health needs, participating in tailored programs across various units such as trauma disorders and aggressive behavior modulation. Your expertise will ensure safe patient handling, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring, all while adhering to the College of Nurses of Ontario standards and embracing lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments related to mental health and physical wellbeing

• Administer medications and execute vital signs checks

• Support patients through therapeutic relationship-building

• Work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team

• Engage in ongoing professional and skills development

Requirements:

• Completion of a recognized Diploma Program in Practical Nursing

• Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Familiarity with MHA and CNO Standards

• CPR/AED Certification must be current

• Two years recent psychiatric nursing experience preferred
