Join The Royal as a Registered Practical Nurse, providing essential care in the Secure Treatment Unit. This part-time role centers on specialized mental health recovery and patient support.
As a part-time nurse at the Brockville Mental Health Centre, you will participate in evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions.
Your role is crucial in engaging with patients experiencing various mental health challenges while promoting rehabilitation through supportive care and teamwork. Strong nursing skills and a commitment to professional development are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough patient evaluations and vital sign checks
• Safely administer medications and injections
• Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients
• Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to enhance care
• Participate in rehabilitation programs tailored to individual needs
Requirements:
• Diploma in Practical Nursing from a recognized program
• Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Knowledge of mental health legislation and CNO standards
• CPR/AED certification completed in the last two years
• English proficiency required, bilingualism is a plus
