Full-Time Registered Practical Nurse Position

Location: Brockville

Transform lives as a Registered Practical Nurse with The Royal in Brockville, Ontario. This full-time role in the Forensic Treatment Unit involves advanced mental health care within the criminal justice system.

At The Royal, you will be a key part of the Forensic Psychiatry Department, providing critical support to those Not Criminally Responsible or Unfit to Stand Trial. This regular full-time position requires diverse skills, including patient assessment, medication administration, and therapeutic relationship building within an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized mental health assessments and treatments

• Administer medications and perform vital sign checks

• Develop therapeutic relationships with patients

• Collaborate with the inter-disciplinary team

• Complete training in workplace violence prevention

Requirements:

• Graduate from recognized Practical Nursing Program

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• CPR/AED Certification within the last 2 years

• Knowledge of CNO Standards and MHA legislation

• Two years of psychiatric nursing experience preferred
