Join The Royal as a part-time Registered Practical Nurse, providing vital care in mental health. Work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends in Brockville, Ontario.
The Royal Ottawa Health Care Group seeks a dedicated Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for the Forensic Psychiatry Unit. This role requires a graduate of a recognized Practical Nursing program with a current registration in Ontario. You will float between units, delivering specialized mental healthcare while developing therapeutic relationships with patients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care in psychiatric settings
• Administer medications, vital signs, and basic wound care
• Utilize technical skills like catheterization and suctioning
• Develop strong therapeutic relationships with patients
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for optimal care
Requirements:
• Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing Diploma Program
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and CNO standards
• CPR/AED certification within two years
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
