Manufacturing Quality Manager

Compensation: $90,000 - $95,000 / year
DescriptionMISSION: To lead and continuously improve the plant’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring products meet customer, regulatory, and internal standards while driving defect reduction, process capability, and a culture of quality across the manufacturing site.
Outcomes Lead the Site’s Quality Management System (QMS) to Compliance and Excellence- Maintain AAR M1003 (or other applicable standards) certification with zero major non-conformances and ensure 100% of quality procedures and work instructions are current, fully followed, and audited quarterly.
- Reduce customer product complaints by ≥ 20% within 12 months.
- Deliver a 10–15% reduction in rework costs year over year.
- Develop and implement a training plan for all Quality Technicians and Inspectors.
- Lead at least 2 major CI projects per year tied to quality or process improvement.
- Takes full responsibility for quality outcomes; does not make excuses.
- Skilled in root-cause analysis, structured problem-solving, and data interpretation.
- Promotes and models adherence to standards and documentation, guiding and coaching team members to follow processes and consistently achieve quality outcomes.
- Develops team members, provides clear direction, and holds others accountable.
- Understands customer requirements; anticipates quality risks; communicates proactively.
- Drives measurable outcomes and consistently meets deadlines by monitoring KPIs to track progress, identify gaps, and ensure continuous improvement.
- Clear, concise reporting; can translate technical issues into business impact.
- Works effectively with production, engineering, supply chain, and external partners.
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience, applying advanced knowledge of PPAP, APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, and AAR M1003 standards.
- Skilled in metrology, inspection methods, and ERP/QMS systems (Epicor, Plex, SAP) to drive compliance, product quality, and continuous improvement.
