Geochemistry Weigh Room Technician Position

Join SGS as a Geochemistry Weigh Room Technician and perform precise weighing of geochemical samples. This role is essential for ensuring quality and accuracy in lab procedures.

In this pivotal role, you will operate under the Supervisor's guidance to follow strict written work instructions. Key tasks include conducting various weighing techniques like Fire Assay and Leco, and performing bench tests, calibrations, and data entry in SLIMS. Your attention to detail is crucial for maintaining compliance with standards and ensuring quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute precise weighing techniques according to SGS procedures

• Conduct bench tests, including LOI and moisture analysis

• Verify and calibrate equipment prior to analysis

• Ensure SLIMS information accurately reflects physical samples

• Maintain equipment and a clean working environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Strong asset: post-secondary education in Science

• Previous lab experience preferred

• Excellent hand/eye coordination and judgment

• Proficient in computer software like Word and Excel
