About This Role

Giant Tiger Wholesale is looking to hire a permanent DC Floater (Freezer) for our distribution centre in Brockville, Ontario!

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety and comply with Ontario Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) standards;
  • Maintain all documentation as outlined in the CFIA/HACCP Food Safety Program
Various warehouse duties, as prescribed by the supervisor.
  • Order Picking:
    • Lift boxes with a weight range of 1 - 50 pounds;
    • Pick store orders efficiently for shipment, ensuring that the 2 tags match the store that they are picking;
    • Assemble various types of frozen and refrigerated merchandise neatly on a skid for shipment;
    • Stencil, tag, or mark orders accurately as requested to ensure completeness and correctness of all orders filled;
    • Picking store orders and delivering them to the staging lanes in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, and productivity;
  • Receiving/Shipping – Inbound/Outbound Freight:
    • Receive inbound freight to comply with warehouse operations and capacities’;
    • Ensure proper labels and tickets have been applied before shipping; maintain good security habits at dock doors; assist in loading and unloading trucks when necessary; operate fork lift; crane; and truck as needed;
    • Responsible for ensuring that all shipping and receiving documents and functions are completed accurately and on time
    • Communicates with customers as required
  • Forklift Operations:
    • Accurately fill primary locations focusing on “dynamics” first and then manual letdowns;
    • Accurately replenish flow racking ensuring that the quantity put in the primary matches the quantity on the computer;
    • Ensure that replenishment stock quantity that is put back into overstock is accurate;
    • Accurately put away merchandise from the receiving docks to the racking;
    • Maintain inventory accuracy by physical moving the correct quantity of merchandise in accordance to the quantity in the system.
What You’ll Bring
  • Completion of High School;
  • Experience as an Order Picker or a similar position;
  • Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time;
  • Must be able to lift heavy items for extended periods of time;
  • Basic computer skills;
  • Experience operating a forklift is an asset
  • Must be comfortable working in a cold environment, as low as
    -18
  • Celsius, for extended periods.
  • As part of your onboarding, you will be required to complete three days of paid machine training and successfully obtain in-house certification. Successful machine certification is a mandatory condition of employment as it is an occupational requirement.
