We are seeking an organised, professional, and welcoming Ward Receptionist to provide front‑line administrative support on Alex Ward, which includes a 20‑bedded elective surgical ward and the Admissions on the Day Unit. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring a smooth patient journey from admission to discharge. Responsibilities include greeting and directing patients, managing calls and enquiries, booking patients in and out on the Care Records Service (CRS), coordinating appointments, and supporting clinicians and nursing staff with essential administrative tasks.
This is a key role in maintaining efficient ward operations and delivering an excellent patient experience.
You will have excellent communication skills, enjoy working in a busy environment and have the ability to prioritise your workload with minimum supervision. Clerical, administrative and good computer skills are essential. Previous experience of working with the public in a hospital setting is desirable.
