Maternity Inpatient ReceptionistThe closing date is 28 July 2026
Act as an integral member of the maternity department providing a range of clerical and reception duties ensuring an efficient and effective service within Maternity Services and preserving the inpatient reception.
Main duties of the jobYou will be responsible for liaising directly with patients and their relatives. Good IT skills and an excellent telephone manner are vital to this role.
You will be required to communicate in a professional manner with a range of professionals within the maternity team, such as Midwives, Obstetricians and Anaesthetists among others.

- Secretarial / typing / administration course or equivalent experience
- ECDL
- NVQ II in Customer Care
- Minimum of six months experience in a receptionist or administrative role
- Experience of using Microsoft Office Packages e.g. Word & Excel
- Previous experience of dealing with general public
- Previous NHS experience
- Working knowledge of CRS
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to deal with patients and relatives in a sensitive manner
- Good interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and understanding of data protection / confidentiality
