Responsibilities- Provide 1 : 1 and small group support to students in primary secondary or college settings.
- Offer tailored assistance to students with ASD ADHD SEMH and other learning challenges.
- Aid teachers in customizing lessons to accommodate individual needs using PECS Makaton and sensory-based learning methods.
- Facilitate the development of students confidence independence and social skills through structured interventions.
- Implement behavior management strategies and offer emotional support as required.
- Collaborate with teachers SENCOs and therapists to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Promote inclusion and engagement ensuring all students have access to learning opportunities.
- Graduates in Psychology Education SEN Social Work or related fields seeking practical experience.
- Experienced Teaching Assistants Youth Workers or Support Workers passionate about SEN.
- A patient compassionate and proactive approach to working with children and young people.
- Familiarity or experience with SEN strategies such as PECS Makaton Team Teach or de-escalation techniques (desirable but not essential).
- A commitment to learning and participating in ongoing CPD and training.

Postgraduate qualification or accredited training in SEND (e.g. National Award for SEN Coordination Autism Education Trust dyslexia / SpLD or SEMH specialism). Proficiency in alternative / augmentative communication methods Makaton PECS AAC using evidence-based interventions such as TEACCH SCERTS or Positive Behaviour in Team-Teach MAPA or similar de-escalation and safe-handling with assistive ed-tech tools and adaptive software
