Psychology Graduates – SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary)

Kingston Upon Thames | Full-Time | Term Time Only

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands‑on experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Kingston Upon Thames is seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to work within their specialist resource provision, supporting pupils aged 4–11.

This role is ideal for graduates hoping to move into educational psychology, child psychology, mental health, or teaching.

Your role will include:
  • Supporting children with emotional regulation and behaviour needs
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups within a structured SEN provision
  • Helping pupils access learning through tailored strategies
  • Supporting routines, transitions, and positive behaviour plans
  • Working closely with teachers and SEN staff
We are keen to hear from:
  • Psychology graduates (or similar degrees)
  • Candidates with previous SEMH or SEN experience
  • Individuals who are calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
  • Those passionate about making a genuine difference

School hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Pay: Competitive and experience dependent

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
