New Chapter Tuition is seeking a dedicated and resilient Outreach Tutor to support children and young people across Kingston upon Thames who are unable to access mainstream education.

This role involves working 1:1 with learners with SEMH, ADHD, anxiety, and those at risk of exclusion, using a relationship-based and trauma-informed approach to help re-engage learners and achieve positive outcomes.

You will deliver personalised tuition in community-based settings including learners' homes, libraries, learning hubs, and alternative provisions.

• Provide 1:1 outreach tuition to learners with SEMH, ADHD, and complex needs
• Plan and adapt sessions to meet individual academic, emotional, and behavioural needs
• Use creative and flexible approaches to re-engage disengaged learners
• Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence and resilience
• Track progress and provide feedback to families, schools, and professionals

We are looking for tutors who are passionate about supporting vulnerable learners and able to work independently.

Essential:

• Experience working with SEMH, ADHD, anxiety, or excluded learners
• Knowledge of the UK curriculum
• Calm, patient, and empathetic approach
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently in community settings

Desirable:

• Previous outreach, alternative provision, or SEN/SEMH tutoring experience
• Teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS/PGCE)
• Experience working with local authorities or SEND services
