The advisory/outreach service for Autism/Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) works closely with schools, the SEND Team and other multi agency teams, families and other partners across Kingston and Richmond. The service supports schools by providing consultations, observations, advice/strategies, modelling and resources to help meet the learning differences of this diverse group of learners.
The aim is to provide efficient and effective support to school staff in order for them to be able to work effectively with pupils with identified social communication needs or autism in mainstream schools. The role will involve working in collaboration with staff in schools to provide advice/strategies and recommend interventions/approaches to address the learning, social, communication and developmental needs of these learners.
They will contribute towards target/outcome setting (using the SCERTs framework), review provision in EHCPs and how this can be effectively met in the school setting and contribute(where appropriate) to termly reviews and the annual review process.
They will also be expected to contribute to the planning and delivery of training sessions in order to enskill school based staff and develop their knowledge and understanding about autism.

Qualifications and Experience- Experience of building strong partnerships, maintaining relationships and co-producing solutions to challenges across a diverse set of stakeholders, including children, young people and their families. Advocating the voices of those we are working with.
- Educated to degree level with an appropriate professional qualification in education
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field i.e. SEND, leadership and management.
- Strong organisational abilities including: time management, problem-solving and multitasking.
