Senior Lecturer – Social Work
Are you an experienced social work academic or practitioner looking to shape the future of social work education and practice? We are seeking a Senior Lecturer in Social Work to join our dynamic Department of Social Work and Social Care at Kingston University.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative, research‑informed teaching that prepares students for contemporary and complex practice.
Responsibilities- Design and deliver high‑quality teaching, provide academic leadership across modules or programmes, and support a diverse student body to achieve their potential.
- Play a key role in curriculum development, practice learning, and strengthening partnerships with local authorities, the voluntary and community sector.
- Contribute to research and/or knowledge exchange activity, helping to deliver impact beyond the University and enhance professional practice.
- Support team leadership, mentor colleagues, and contribute to the wider academic development of the Department.
- Experienced and motivated social work academic or practitioner with a commitment to excellence in teaching, partnership working, and professional impact.
- Strong understanding of contemporary social work practice, policy and education.
- Evidence of research, scholarship or knowledge exchange activity, with potential to develop a national profile.
- Experience building effective partnerships with external stakeholders.
- Collaborative and proactive individual with strong communication and leadership skills, who can inspire students, contribute to team development and connect academic work with real‑world practice and impact.
- Meeting Kingston University’s learning and teaching standards; achievement of relevant UKPSF recognition by the end of probation.
- Full‑time, permanent position with a starting salary of £50,160 per annum.
