English Teacher – September 2026
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Kingston upon Thames from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an inspirational teacher who is passionate about English and committed to helping students develop a love of literature and language while achieving their full potential. Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
The Role
You will:
* Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for suitably experienced candidates.
* Inspire students to develop strong literacy, analytical and communication skills.
* Assess, monitor and support student progress through effective feedback and intervention.
* Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes high expectations and excellent behaviour.
* Contribute to the wider life of the English department and school community.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and continually improve teaching and learning.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
* A degree in English or a closely related subject.
* Experience teaching English within a UK secondary school (placements considered for ECTs).
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for delivering engaging lessons.
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
