Job Summary

12 Months Fixed term Contract (Maternity Cover). All relevant skills, qualifications and experience are listed below.

Responsibilities
  • Teach on Level 4 Adult part time day (Tuesdays and/or Thursdays), including teaching across other Counselling programmes (Levels 2, 3, and Level 5 on Wednesdays).
  • Provide teaching, marking and tutorial support for Counselling courses.
  • Contribute to all aspects of the Section/School, including occasional out of hours activities (selection days, interviews, open events).
Qualifications
  • Professional qualification to practice in Counselling or Psychotherapy (minimum L6 Diploma or Honours Degree).
  • Member/accredited of BACP, UKCP or equivalent professional body (or willing to gain membership).
  • At least 3 years’ post‑qualification experience.
  • Teaching qualification (or willing to work towards) with experience teaching counselling at Level 3 or above.
  • Supervision qualification or experience providing clinical supervision to groups or individuals.
  • Ability to assess students’ work/skills, convey knowledge, support skill development, maintain boundaries, and foster warm and empathic relationships.
  • Familiarity with national educational standards and BACP awarding/validating body requirements.
Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, online search and proof of eligibility to work in the UK will be required.
