Position: Lecturer – Art & Design (Fashion and Textiles)

Overview

Permanent, part‑time (0.4) lecturer in Fashion Design & Textiles at Kingston College, part of the South Thames Colleges Group.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver design, techniques and processes for practical vocational courses.
  • Use relevant machines and tools safely in classroom and specialist workshop settings.
  • Support students in understanding the design cycle, garment design, and industry practices.
  • Monitor and support learners to achieve or exceed their potential.
  • Facilitate student work experience and industry placements integral to the Study Programme.
  • Apply health and safety procedures in classrooms and workshops.
Qualifications
  • Teaching qualification (or willing to pursue one).
  • Recognised as a good or outstanding teacher.
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant area.
  • Experience in personalised learning, equality and diversity, and safeguarding.
  • Strong commitment to equality, diversity and safeguarding.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures applicable in classrooms and workshops.
  • Strong understanding of past, current and future design trends.
