Food Technology Teacher – September

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Part‑Time applications may be considered)
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
The Role- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Food Technology lessons across Key Stages3 and4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage5 for suitably experienced candidates.
- Teach students practical cooking skills, food preparation techniques and food hygiene principles.
- Promote an understanding of nutrition, healthy eating and food science.
- Assess, monitor and support student progress through effective feedback and intervention.
- Ensure the safe use of kitchen equipment and maintain high standards of health and safety during practical lessons.
- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes high expectations and excellent behaviour.
- Contribute to the wider Design and Technology department and school community.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and continually improve teaching and learning.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- A degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutrition, Hospitality or a related subject.
- Experience teaching Food Technology within a UK secondary school (placements considered for ECTs).
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- A supportive and collaborative leadership team.
- A well‑resourced Design and Technology department with modern food preparation facilities.
