SEN Teaching Assistant
Prospero Teaching is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant for a brilliant three form-entry primary school in Kingston Upon Thames. This wonderful primary school in Kingston Upon Thames is dedicated to supporting pupils with additional needs. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access learning and make progress both academically and socially.
The position is open to experienced SEN Teaching Assistants, Teaching Assistants, and Learning Support Assistants.
CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS- Location – Kingston Upon Thames
- Position – SEN Teaching Assistant
- Type of work – Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, assisting with learning, behaviour support, and classroom activities
- Position start date – September 2026
- Full time/part time – Part time
- Rate of pay – GBP
100 - GBP
115 per day (depending on experience) - Hours – 8:30am - 3:45pm, Monday to Wednesday (term time only)
- Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant.
- Experience supporting children with SEND, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs is desirable.
- Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year is desirable (training can be provided where required).
- GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
- Relevant Teaching Assistant, SEN, Childcare, or Education qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Hold Right to Work in the UK.
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
- Provide two professional child-related references covering at least the last two years.
