We are recruiting on behalf of a highly supportive and well-established all-through SEND School in Kingston Upon Thames, catering for pupils from Primary through to Key Stage
5. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, therapists, or individuals looking to build a rewarding career within special education.
No previous school-based SEN experience is required. The school provides ongoing training, mentoring, and professional development to help you succeed in the role.
About the Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupils with a range of additional learning needs. You will help create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing one-to-one and small group support to students
Assisting pupils with learning, communication, and social development
Supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties, and Complex Needs
Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
Helping to create a safe and nurturing learning environment
What We're Looking For We welcome applications from graduates and individuals who are:
Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND
Patient, empathetic, and resilient
Confident communicating with students, staff, and parents
Positive, proactive, and eager to learn
Interested in pursuing a career in education, psychology, therapy, social care, or related fields
Desirable but Not Essential
Experience working with children or young people
Volunteering, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or care experience
Previous experience supporting individuals with additional needs
