Exam Invigilator

Chessington School is recruiting ad hoc exam invigilators to join its invigilator team, which is led by the Exams Officer. Invigilators supervise candidates during examinations, keeping papers secure and ensuring sessions follow JCQ rules and national exam regulations. The work is seasonal, tied to the exam timetable, with no guaranteed hours and flexible working days, so it suits people who can commit to reliable, punctual attendance.

A DBS check is required and visa sponsorship is not available.

• Supervise and observe candidates at all times, staying vigilant throughout exams
• Deal with emergencies, irregularities and candidate questions in line with JCQ regulations
• Record and report incidents, disruptions and irregularities to the Exams Officer
• Keep question papers, exam materials and candidate information secure and confidential
• Report for briefing by the Examinations Officer before each session
• Set up and check the examination room and admit candidates under exam conditions
• Distribute papers and materials and brief candidates on expected conduct
• Start exams in line with JCQ regulations
• Complete accurate attendance registers
• Collect scripts and materials, dismiss candidates and pack scripts against the register
• Supervise timetable clash candidates, run catch-up sessions and facilitate access arrangements such as reader or scribe
• Support exam administration, including the JCQ second pair of eyes check
