The Role
An established and growing engineering consultancy in London is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join its expanding infrastructure team. This is a key role within the business, offering the opportunity to lead on the design and delivery of civil engineering projects across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of infrastructure schemes, including highways, drainage, and external works.
Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and calculations in accordance with UK standards and regulations.
Design surface and foul water drainage systems (including SuDS) and undertake flood risk assessments.
Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and approval agencies (e.g. S278, S38, S104 processes).
Oversee and coordinate project teams to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery.
Review and approve technical work produced by junior engineers and technicians.
Attend client meetings and provide technical guidance throughout project life cycles.
Support business development activities, including preparation of fee proposals and bid submissions.

Essential Requirements:

5+ years’ experience in civil engineering within a consultancy environment.
Strong background in highways and drainage design for development projects.
Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D (or similar), and Micro Drainage/Info Drainage.
Experience working with UK design standards and local authority approval processes.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience mentoring or overseeing junior staff.
