Summary The Finance Manager ensures the smooth running of daily financial operations and supports timely, accurate reporting for the theatre. Working closely with the Finance Director, the role involves advising on process improvements, supervising other finance team colleagues, and working closely with other departments.
More Details- CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial Reporting & Controls
- Management Accounts: Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis for Finance Director review.
- Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Cash Management: Monitor cash balances regularly and supervise the Finance Officer in bank reconciliations.
- Disbursements: Oversee petty cash allocations and staff expense claims.
- Revenue & Operational Accounting
- Show Settlements: Calculate and process show contra settlements, ensuring accurate profit shares for producers, artists, and general managers.
- Box Office Income: Work closely with the box office team and ticketing systems to reconcile sales and deferred income.
- Income Recognition: Collaborate with the Finance Officer to ensure correct income recognition.
- Budgeting: Partner with department heads (e.g., Programming, Marketing, Technical) to monitor budgets and update forecasts.
- Transactional & Compliance
- Payroll: Liaise directly with the Payroll Manager.
- Supplier Payments: Supervise the Finance Officer in preparing online payments for approval; monitor creditors and ensure appropriate payments are made on time.
- Compliance & Audit: Work with the Finance Director on the preparation of statutory accounts, handle VAT returns, and liaise with external auditors during field work.
- General Governance
- Be familiar with and personally responsible for acting within the Equal Opportunities Policies of the Rose Theatre.
- Ensure that all Rose Theatre policies-including Health and Safety, Access (including DDA), and Equal Opportunities-are strictly adhered to.
- Act as an active and supportive member of the Rose Theatre staff team.
