Head of Finance

Kenneth Brian Associates are looking for an experienced finance professional to take ownership of the financial operations across a growing group of businesses based in Kingston. This is a senior position offering the opportunity to play a key role in shaping financial strategy, improving reporting and controls, and providing commercially focused insight to the senior leadership team. You will be responsible for ensuring the finance function operates effectively, maintaining strong financial controls and helping the wider business make informed decisions based on accurate and timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities Lead the overall finance function across the group, providing clear direction and financial oversight. Develop and deliver financial strategies that support the organisation's wider commercial objectives. Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, providing analysis, insight and recommendations to support decision-making. Take ownership of the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes. Prepare and oversee accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.

Ensure statutory accounts, VAT returns and other financial obligations are completed accurately and on time. Monitor cash flow, financial performance and key business metrics, highlighting risks and opportunities. Ensure the business remains on track against agreed budgets and financial targets. Identify opportunities to improve profitability, reduce unnecessary expenditure and increase operational efficiency. Review and maintain effective supplier arrangements, ensuring invoices and payments are managed in line with agreed terms.

Support the implementation and integration of finance systems and accounting software to improve management reporting. Ensure the group remains compliant with relevant financial legislation, regulations and internal policies. Lead and develop members of the finance team, creating a high-performing and well-organised function. About You The successful candidate will have a strong background in senior-level finance and the confidence to operate at both strategic and operational levels.

You should ideally have:
Previous experience as a Head of Finance, Financial Controller, Finance Director or in a comparable senior finance position. Strong technical accounting and financial management knowledge. Experience managing and developing a finance team. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the confidence to interpret financial information and turn it into meaningful commercial advice.

Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial planning. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial matters clearly to non-finance stakeholders. A commercially minded approach, with a focus on improving performance and supporting business growth. Experience implementing or improving accounting/finance systems and management reporting.
