Job overviewThe Royal Marsden Hospital is one of Europe’s largest Oncology centres and was the world’s first hospital dedicated to cancer research, diagnosis, treatment and education. This post is based at our Cavendish Square site where we see both private care and NHS patients. There are also sites in Chelsea and Sutton.
We are currently inviting applications from enthusiastic radiographers for a senior diagnostic radiographer post (mammography and CT) for our Cavendish Square site in central London. The successful candidate will rotate between mammography and CT. The successful candidate will hold a postgraduate certificate in mammography. CT training can be provided where required.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a commitment to professional development and show a keen interest in the future of their profession and the diagnostic imaging services. They will be expected to support both the service and its staff in continuing to maintain and develop the highest standards of imaging. In return the successful applicant will be offered a high standard of support towards their career pathway.
Mainduties of the job
The post holder will be expected to be flexible in their approach. The post holder will work as part of the senior radiographer team liaising with Radiologists and clinicians in charge of a patient. They will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team liaising with clinical nurse specialists, staff at other radiology sites and other departmental staff. They will also liaise with internal and external agencies.
It is essential that the post holder has post graduate experience in mammography. CT experience would be desirable. This post requires good analytical, organisational, communication and computer skills. The key working relationships will be with other radiographers, superintendent radiographers on all radiology sites, radiology clerical and admin staff, clinical scientists, consultant radiologists and clinical referrers.
