An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 midwife who is passionate about physiological birth to help expand our well-established, award‑winning homebirth team.

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic midwife who would relish the opportunity to:

  • Provide antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care at home to women booked with the homebirth team

  • Use and develop all their midwifery skills
  • Help increase the numbers of home births, piloting innovative ways of working

Join a dynamic, supportive and experienced team.

Main duties of the job

To provide women and babies with high quality, safe midwifery care in a variety of practice settings, but mainly within the home throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period.

To ensure care provided will be evidence based and holistic in meeting women's individual needs.

To work autonomously within guidelines and sphere of professional practice.

To act as an effective role model, mentor and preceptor as required. In the absence of a Band 7 Team Leader, lead the team and manage the workload.
