Join us at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, working in partnership with its academic partner, The Institute of Cancer Research, to form one of Europe’s largest and most influential cancer centres. We are internationally recognised for delivering world‑class patient care, cutting‑edge research, and educational excellence. We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Therapeutic Radiographer or a therapeutic radiographer with clinical and/or dosimetry experience to join our Radiography Research Unit.

This two-year fixed‑term Band 7 post, with part‑time working considered, is ideal for an individual who is keen to develop their research skills and build experience with a view to leading research in the future. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic and supportive research team, gaining hands‑on experience in the design, delivery, and translation of research into clinical practice.

This role will enable the post holder to contribute to meaningful improvements in radiotherapy practice and patient outcomes, while developing the skills and confidence required to progress towards research leadership locally, nationally, and internationally.

Main duties of the job

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust with its academic partner, The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) comprises the largest Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Europe, employing over 3,300 scientific, clinical and nursing staff with an annual joint budget of £400million. The joint institution demonstrates breadth and depth in basic biomedical, translational and experimental cancer research, and provides a highly active and effective clinical research environment, with a critical mass of experienced internationally renowned clinicians and biomedical scientists engaged in leading‑edge research.

Research is at the heart of the activity of both Institutions which operate jointly to ensure seamless translation of research findings into genuine and significant changes in clinical practice for the benefit of patients with cancer not only within the UK but internationally.
