Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
The Energy Manager has strategic, compliance and policy‑making responsibilities and is responsible for the university’s Energy Policy and Water Policy and for contributing to the University’s Carbon Management Plan. The Energy Manager will ensure statutory compliance and devise and lead the implementation of a programme of work that ensures that objectives are met.
The post‑holder will introduce energy and water saving programmes and manage specific projects in collaboration with Faculties, Schools, the Estates project team, KUSCO (Kingston University’s facilities and maintenance provider) and other Departments.
Qualifications & ExperienceThe candidate must exhibit strong strategic planning skills together with experience of business reporting to senior level stakeholders. Prospective candidates will be technically competent and familiar with Energy Management legislation and best practice guidance. They should also possess excellent inter‑personal and team working skills. Candidates should also be able to show how their own initiatives have demonstrated energy or financial savings.
The successful candidate will possess management experience, including leading small scale projects working on building types with comparable characteristics to those found in the Higher Education sector.

Estates & Sustainability
Estates & Sustainability sits within the Finance, Infrastructure and HR Directorate and exists to support Kingston University’s academic mission and the goals set out in its strategic plan. It leads on strategic planning, capital development, space management, operational sustainability, energy management, and biodiversity management, as well as statutory compliance and operation of the campuses and premises used by the university. It provides direction for the operation, facilities maintenance, and management of the estate by KUSCO - a wholly owned subsidiary of the University.
This is a full time, permanent position with a starting salary of £50,160 per annum.
