As a frontline professional, you will deliver a modern, flexible housing and homelessness service, carrying out statutory housing and homelessness assessments and decision‑making with a focus on preventing homelessness.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing and deciding on applications under the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
• Providing advice and support to households to prevent or reduce homelessness.
• Collaborating with the Housing Solutions Team to secure alternative accommodation when necessary.
• Maintaining accurate records of assessments, decisions and progress following statutory guidance.

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

• Knowledge of housing legislation (Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017).
• Understanding of the importance and complexities of homelessness prevention.
• Ability to assess and interpret statutory duties and complex case situations.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Experience in working with vulnerable populations (welcome but not essential).
