Day Services Paraprofessional $20.00/hour M-F (Mothers Hours!)

New England Village, Inc. is looking for a Day Services Paraprofessional to work Monday–Friday (8:30 am‑3:30 pm or 9:00 am‑3:00 pm) in Kingston, MA. Pay is $20 per hour.

What You’ll Do

Work directly with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities to teach, assist, and facilitate choices in their daily lives and community.

Essential Job Functions
  • Assist members to identify, develop and participate in activities that increase functional independence.
  • Coordinate schedules and support members’ integration into the community and alignment with therapeutic goals.
  • Inform appropriate parties of medical, behavioral, social or other relevant issues; document in logbooks, incident reports or tracking tools.
  • Develop life skill and enrichment curriculum per program objectives.
  • Provide assistance during activities, ensure safety and hygiene, and maintain a clean environment.
  • Follow diet plans for members when required.
  • Participate in meetings and maintain required trainings and certifications.
  • Perform other related duties as instructed or directed by supervisor.
Knowledge and Experience Required
  • High school diploma required; additional education preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years' experience working with adults with disabilities.
Skills
  • Read and interpret safety rules, policies and procedure manuals.
  • Prepare routine reports and correspondence.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals served; good personal communication skills.
  • Handle problems involving known variables in standardized situations.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
