Within our Retail locations, we bring this promise to life with heart every day. Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise. As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service that exceeds patient expectations.
Responsibilities- Live our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help our pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, creating heartfelt moments while serving patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone; offer immunizations and other services; solve or escalate patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and waiting‑bin inventories.
- Contribute to a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and be receptive to feedback; actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, traveling to stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws and CVS policies, ensuring patient safety, controlled‑substance dispensing, record‑keeping, and privacy.
- Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and voluntarily staffing off‑site clinics), where allowed by law and supported by required training and certification.
- Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer to the pharmacist‑on‑duty for vaccination questions.
- Monitor and respond to adverse reactions, reporting events per public health requirements.
- Review and collect patient information; track and document for each applicable patient.
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
- Comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, licensure, and certification; if no minimum age or education is set, must be at least 16 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
- Customer service and team orientation: actively help people, respond to patient reactions appropriately.
- Communication skills: use and understand verbal and written communication; demonstrate active listening.
- Mathematical reasoning: use math to solve dosage calculations.
- Problem resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose best action.
- Physical demands: mobile, upright for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, perform fine motor tasks.
- Perform any additional tasks directed by supervisor or manager.
- 1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs.

Pay Range$17.00 – $27.00 per hour.
