Solid Waste & Recycling General Laborer​/Non-Exempt

This position is responsible for sorting recyclable materials, assisting with equipment operation and maintenance, and helping ensure a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and able to perform physically demanding tasks both independently and as part of a team.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Bobcat and forklift experience (preferred)
• Must pass a drug screen and background check

• Sort #1 and #2 plastics and aluminum cans on the processing line
• Maintain cleanliness of the sorting line, bay floor, and surrounding areas
• Work collaboratively with participants from the Michael Dunn Work Program
• Learn to safely operate the baler and other recycling equipment
• Assist with changing and emptying compactor boxes as needed
• Support operations in the scale house when necessary
• Perform litter pick-up and janitorial tasks in and around the facility
• Follow safety guidelines and help maintain a safe, organized work environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and operate machinery for extended periods
• Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise
