Definition

Performs a variety of duties related to the professional accounting functions and accounts receivables of the City of Kingsville.

Essential Job Functions

Reconcile assigned accounts in the general ledger.

Monitors and controls accounting activities in the recording of financial transactions, (i.e. accounts receivables, accounts payables, collections).

Researches, analyzes and prepares journals for financial transactions.

Assists in special projects and research, such as budget, audit, and end-of-year reports.

Scanning and maintaining all daily processes.

Research information when assigned.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of methods and applications of computerized accounting.
Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, methods and equipment.
Ability to examine and verify financial documents and reports.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship and to communicate with department personnel, other City employees and the public.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of general office procedures.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Acceptable Equivalency

Any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities.

Conditions of Employment

Proof of eligibility to legally work in the U.S.
Background investigation.
