Responsibilities
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of complex avionics/electrical components and subsystems, discrepancies, and modifications.
  • Provide in‑depth knowledge of operation and maintenance of various avionics/electrical support equipment and test benches.
  • Read wiring schematics and drawings; test and repair miniature/microminiature electronic assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Coordinate with customers, OEMs, management and work centers to resolve questions concerning components, subsystems and support equipment modifications and repairs.
  • Provide technical assistance, guidance and instruction as required.
  • Estimate and assess damage of avionics/electrical components/systems related to crash and mishap damaged aircraft, including repair and/or replacement, man‑hours, parts, components and materials.
  • Assist in P&E report preparation.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work center and assigned area.
  • Adhere to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to Company Tool Control Program.
  • Document work accomplished in the current Maintenance Data System, such as NALCOMIS.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Accommodate rotating shifts.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Attain and maintain all necessary security clearances within six months of start date.
  • Familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of avionics/electrical systems and subsystems.
  • Possess thorough working knowledge of detection, prevention and treatment of corrosion.
Qualification Standards
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in aircraft avionics/electrical component and subsystems maintenance.
  • Experience in 2M avionic component repair, avionics corrosion detection, treatment and prevention, performing maintenance on avionics/electrical components, support equipment, utilizing test benches, tools, blueprints, drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics and normal safety requirements.
  • Completion of U.S. Armed Forces aircraft avionics component school and Miniature Electronics Repair Courses A‑100‑0072 & A‑100‑0073.
  • Ability to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
  • Obtain level of security clearance required by the government.
  • Valid state driver’s license.

  • Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) (may be required)
  • CPR
  • 2M *
  • Aircraft Towing Certified

Physical Demands

Work is typically in a hangar/shop/flight line environment; may be required to lift objects not exceeding 50 pounds. Requires close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.

Work Environment

Conditions range from minimal physical discomfort to inclement weather, high noise hazards, fumes or airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards.
