SummaryYou will serve as an Environmental Media Manager in the Environmental Division of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.
Duties- Perform as the technical expert for the Installation Commanding Officer on Clean Air Act (CAA) and Emergency Planning Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) regulations.
- Perform as the technical expert for the Installation Commanding Officer on Clean Water Act (CWA) fuel storage tank and Oil Pollution Act (OPA) spill response regulations.
- Perform as the technical expert for the Installation Commanding Officer on Resources Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) underground fuel storage tank regulations.
- Conduct environmental inspections to determine compliance with applicable permits and regulations.
- Inspect fuel storage tank systems and operations to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Inspect air emission units and operations to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
- Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies and develop reviews and submit permit applications for managed programs.
- Implement reviews, revise or provide comments on environmental plans for managed programs.
- Review and provide written comments for maintenance and construction project scopes of work, contracts, and design drawings.
- Develop and conduct environmental training pertinent to installation operations.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Ensuring environmental compliance through developing projects.
- Collecting data for chemical or waste related properties.
- Overseeing assigned installation's environmental programs.

EducationApplicants must possess the following positive education qualifications:
- For Series 0401:
Degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines. - Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major plus appropriate experience.
- For Series 0819:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET accredited) or equivalent engineering science coursework. - For Series 1301:
Degree in physical science, engineering, or mathematics with required semester hours.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
