As a Bank Staff Teaching Assistant, you'll be an essential part of the school community, providing crucial support where it's needed most for students with various SEN requirements. This is a flexible, 'bank staff' position

- Location: Bristol, UK
- Pay Rate: £90 per day
- Working Hours: 8:15 AM - 3:30 PM (Typical school day hours)
- Contract Type: Bank Staff (Flexible/Ad-hoc)
Key Responsibilities and Activities
You won't just be an extra pair of hands; you'll be a mentor
, a motivator
, and a pillar of support for students with diverse SEN needs, including those with SEMH challenges.
- Assisting the classroom teacher to ensure lessons run smoothly and are inclusive for all learners.
- Helping students with varied needs access and engage with a differentiated curriculum.
- Actively contributing to a safe, welcoming, and productive school environment.
- Providing one-on-one or small group support to help students with their learning objectives, managing tasks, and overcoming academic or social-emotional challenges.
- Working with students across the SEN spectrum, adapting support methods to individual Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans.
- Assisting in maintaining a focused and calm atmosphere, supporting behavioural and learning strategies set by the teacher.
- Being a trusted point of contact, assisting with the pastoral care and overall well‑being of the students, especially those facing SEMH difficulties.

Clear, empathetic, and effective interaction with students (including non‑verbal communication), staff, and parents. - Empathy: A deep understanding and sensitivity toward the unique learning styles and needs of students with SEN/SEMH.
- Teamwork: The ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a dedicated school team, including working with therapists and specialists.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEN/SEMH, or in any educational setting (formal or informal)
