Lead Software Engineer

Salary: £100, per year

• We require enhanced security clearance for this role.
• We are looking for 5 years experience delivering production‑grade cloud solutions.
• We require strong Java experience, with exposure to JVM languages such as Kotlin or Scala.
• We require experience with Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
• We require a background in Agile Dev Sec Ops  environments and Zero Trust architectures.
• We require experience integrating with services such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and S3.
• We require solid engineering fundamentals, including clean code, testing, documentation, code reviews, and continuous delivery.
• We require comfort using Git Hub, Git Lab, and Atlassian tools.
• We require strong TDD experience.
• We require hands‑on experience with microservices and distributed systems.
• We value exposure to Big Data technologies.
• We are looking for someone who can work effectively in cross‑functional teams and within an Agile environment.

• We design, build, deploy, and improve backend services and platforms.
• We deliver features that meet both functional and non‑functional requirements.
• We estimate and shape user stories as part of an Agile team.
• We ship small, frequent releases to maintain momentum.
• We work closely with other engineers in cross‑functional teams.
• We build, optimise, and run CI/CD pipelines.
• We own and support the services our team delivers in production.
• We contribute to secure backend platforms used by National Security and Defence customers.
• We work across modern cloud‑based systems in private and public cloud environments.
